An important working mode of the double acting hydraulic cylinder is differential connection, which means that both chambers of the cylinder are simultaneously connected to pressure oil 816. Due to the larger effective area of the rodless chamber compared to the rodless chamber, the piston will move towards the rodless chamber while replenishing the oil in the rodless chamber, creating a "differential" effect. This connection method can increase the movement speed of the piston (but correspondingly reduce the output force) without increasing the pump flow rate, and is commonly used in scenarios where excavators need to quickly approach working conditions with no load. Differential connection is a typical application of energy-saving design in hydraulic systems.

 

Special working principle of multi-stage oil cylinder
